Do you listen to your inner voice? Is it a positive or negative influence? What comes up for you when you think about this?
Your inner voice is run by your inner critic and your inner coach and which one you tune in to can depend very much on how you are feeling in the moment. Because life is like that right? There are always curve balls and things to navigate so the more we know how to support ourselves the easier it is to move through.
We all have a critic and a coach and learning how to tune IN to what supports us – the coach – and tune OUT of what doesn’t – the critic – is key.
Often the inner critic has been dominating your thoughts for a long time so using tools and techniques to quieten it is super helpful. The critic can get in the way of your hopes and dreams. The critic can convince you that you are less than. The critic LOVES to sabotage.
Feel Familiar?

You are more than enough lovely, you are more than enough.
Just think for a moment what happens when the inner critic dominates.
What does it do for your confidence? Your self belief? Your worthiness?
It sucks right? It holds you back and keeps you stuck. Stops you living the life you desire. Stops you chasing your dreams. Stops you being you.

Can you think of a time when you didn’t do that thing you really wanted to?
What held you back? Was it fear? Was it not believing in yourself? Was it lack of confidence? Maybe all three. The critic loves to overthink and over analyse…looking for what can go wrong instead of what can go right, looking for problems over possibility, choosing overwhelm over opportunity.
The critic says ‘What if I fall?’
But here’s the thing…
What if you fly darling, what if you fly?
The coach says YES to opportunities. The coach says YES to possibility. The coach says YES to being YOU.
The coach comes from a place of LOVE.

Can you imagine it?
So how does it get to change?
Start with these simple steps:
- Acknowledge that change is possible.
- Allow your inner coach to be heard.
- Affirm that it gets to be different, that you get to choose.
Notice how it makes you feel, choosing you. Choosing change. Choosing possibility. Repeat the process every day, perhaps whilst focusing on your breath and see how it feels in your body.
