How to silence your negative inner voice

Do you listen to your inner voice? Is it a positive or negative influence? What comes up for you when you think about this?

Your inner voice is run by your inner critic and your inner coach and which one you tune in to can depend very much on how you are feeling in the moment. Because life is like that right? There are always curve balls and things to navigate so the more we know how to support ourselves the easier it is to move through.

We all have a critic and a coach and learning how to tune IN to what supports us – the coach – and tune OUT of what doesn’t – the critic – is key.

Often the inner critic has been dominating your thoughts for a long time so using tools and techniques to quieten it is super helpful. The critic can get in the way of your hopes and dreams. The critic can convince you that you are less than. The critic LOVES to sabotage.

What to do when you’ve fallen out of love with yourself

How often do you look at yourself in the mirror? I mean really look? Deep into your eyes and just look.

What flies through your head when you do? Do you smile or does it make you feel uncomfortable? Does that inner critic pop up and start that negative dialogue? Questioning your worthiness, your enoughness, questioning you. Your right to take up space. Your right to be you.

Beautiful one, it is so easy to be self critical and not give yourself the love that you so readily give to a good friend. To tune in to unhelpful inner thoughts and let them take over. To buy into that negative stream of consciousness.

It’s not your fault.

Why should you get your laugh on?

What’s the point in laughing when there isn’t much to laugh about? I hear you. 2020 was a shocker of a year in so many ways and left us with very little to laugh about. And when you are feeling depleted and running on empty laughing is probably last on your list.

I. Hear. You.

“Happiness and wellbeing is not just a pleasurable sensation it is a deep sense of serenity and fulfillment. A state that underlies all emotional states and all the joys and sorrows that can come one’s way” – Matthieu Ricard

Have you got your laugh on?!

What does it feel like to laugh? To really laugh? To let go? To proper deep down belly laugh? To let it flow? Amazing right! Now how often do you think you actually do that???

Try and remember the last time you did. Does the memory come to you easily? Can you remember how it made you feel? Who it was with? Why you were laughing?

Whether you can or you can’t it doesn’t matter…we remember because it doesn’t happen often enough and we forget because it doesn’t happen often enough.
